Downton Abbey Afternoon Tea
"... conversation is the essence of a party, what you eat and drink is the spice of it, and a well-laid table hints of what is to come, like the wrapping of a present."
Join us as we anticipate and celebrate the premier of the Downton Abbey movie! A small history lesson on tea during that time will be given, as we discuss the difference between High Tea and Low Tea, and the etiquettes of that era and what was considered "proper" behavior for upper class and servants. We will then dine on the following items, all made in house:
- A cup of Royal Cheddar Potato Soup
- Tea Sandwiches: Ham & Aged Cheddar on Rye, Cucumber with Cream Cheese on White, and Cashew Chicken Salad on Croissant
- Traditional English Style Scone with Devonshire Crème, honey and jam
-Sweets: Lemon Curd in an Earl Grey Tart Shell, Dark Chocolate Raspberry Torte Bite, and Pear Upside Down Cake, Fresh Fruit
For those who choose to dress up, we will then take a promenade walk through town, showing off our Victorian outfits.
$45 per person, plus sales tax, processing fee and gratuity
